This class covers all the skills you need to plan and enjoy a safe day out in the hills.
Topics include:
Understanding weather forecasts
Researching routes
What kit to carry
Clothing
How to move in the mountains
Emergency procedures
The class will take place in the Campsie Fells (exact location information provided once booked) and will run between 09:00 and 15:00. Participants should come ready for a day's easy hillwalking and a kit list will be provided.
The day prior to this class we run out Intro Navigation class, which covers all the fundamentals of map and compass navigation. If you wish to attend both classes then you will receive a 20% discount off the Mountaincraft class (discount will be applied when we send out payment instructions). Once you submit your booking we will send an email confirmation with instructions on how to pay and a kit list for your activity.
Additionally, you will receive medical and consent forms which need to be returned prior to attending.
In the days before the event we will confirm the exact meeting point and provide up to date weather information.
